Sifnos Island In Greece -Photo Journal-
I had never been to Sifnos before.
Although is close to Athens & one of the most popular summer destinations in Greece, it was never my choice.
So, this summer it was about time to discover that small island & I absolutely fell in love with it.
It is a treasure at Aegean sea & I wish I could stay longer.
Before I go, I decided to stay away from computers and notebooks and enjoy my main vacation. Evidently, I did not register down any details on the “where to go” or “what to do” about a blog article, but it is such a pretty island that I cannot resist of sharing a few photos from my personal collection.
The island is in the western part of the Cyclades and is full of beautiful beaches, traditional greek taverns, over 200 monasteries & amazing beautiful villages.
The cuisine of Sifnos is very tasty and reach. I have to admit that I had never eaten so well in so many restaurants at one place before. I also enjoyed a lot of traditional sweets, crepes and flavoring ice creams.
Apart from the traditional taverns near by the sea, there are many mediterranean & italian restaurants to enjoy. The island has also a nightlife worth to mention it (as most of the Greek islands do), with many small bars spread around, serving tasty cocktails.
Sifnos is elegant, calm & it`s a lovely destination for either couples or families, with several touristic attractions & benefits.
I had a wonderful time, although I was about to cancel my trip, since I got really sick with pneumonia a few days before leaving Athens.
There are many more photos uploaded on Instagram if you want to check out more places.
Have you ever been to Sifnos? Have you visited any other Greek island?
