Home Cooking: Whole Fish Baked in Salted Crust

By on November 6, 2015

So, we decided to have fish for a change!

And then, we decided to share the idea with our friends, who were kind enough to invite us over their home to cook & enjoy the day.

It was a really easy recipe –probably the easiest that exist- and I must admit the fishes were amazingly salty – tasty! As it was my first time cooking vitae like this, I thought that the salt would be so strong in the taste, but it actually wasn`t and it did not bother me at all.

We preheated the oven at 200°, and prepared the fishes. We used two packages of thick salt per one fish. After covering them completely with salt, we watered it a little, just to make sure that the salt will get a bit moist.

After cooking in the preheated oven for about 20 to 25 minutes, we broke the crust and boom!

The prettiest and tastier meal!!

We also prepared a vegetables mixture salad of brocoli, carrots & potatoes to accompany our main dish and bought this delicious oil-bread from a bakery around the corner.

And of course, we made a simple sauce of olive oil and lemon juice blend, that brings up the fish flavor and of course brightened up the colors of our table.

Oh I enjoyed it so so much!! I didn`t face any issues with the fish-bones. The fishes were big enough and you could easily identify the bones. 🙂
